Note that his image in the bubble is upside down because the bubble refracted the light.

The International Space Station

as seen in its ULF3 configuration by the departing Space Shuttle Atlantis,

following the departure of STS-129,

which delivered ExPRESS Logistics Carriers 1 & 2 to the orbital outpost.

The newly-arrived Russian Poisk module is also visible.

Mastracchio on Spacewalk

NASA astronaut Rick Mastracchio conducts the third spacewalk of STS-132.

During the six-hour, 24-minute spacewalk,

Mastracchio and Clayton Anderson hooked up fluid lines of the new 1,700-pound tank,

retrieved some micrometeoroid shields from the Quest airlock's exterior,

relocated a portable foot restraint

and prepared cables on the Zenith 1 truss for a spare Space to Ground Ku-Band antenna,

two chores required before space shuttle Atlantis' STS-132/ULF-4

shuttle Atlantis' STS-132/ULF-4 mission in May.

STS088-703-019 (4-15 DECEMBER 1998) ---

The U.S.-built Unity connecting module (bottom)
and the Russian-built Zarya module
are backdropped against the blackness of space
in this 70mm photograph taken from the Space Shuttle Endeavour.
After devoting the major portion of its mission time to various tasks
to ready the two docked modules for their International Space Station (ISS) roles,
the six-member STS-88 crew released the tandem and performed a fly-around survey of the hardware.

Life aboard the International Space Station

It's 10 years since the first crew entered
the International Space Station 220 miles above the Earth.
But what is it like aboard a big tin can travelling at 17,500mph?
